As we welcome in 2025, I must confess, I strongly dislike New Year's resolutions. Why? I'm a firm believer in setting goals and making positive changes in my life any time of year. So, it's really just a coincidence that I'm changing up a few things in my world of writing at the start of a new year.
Why I write stories with strong faith elements
I don't know about you, but I'm totally fed up with TV, movies, and novels that leave me feeling icky and distrubed by the world's view of things. I long for quality, godly, inspirational entertainment that challenges me or inspires me.
The Bible is the best source of inspiration and a road map for life. So, I want to share stories with readers, who like me, are burnt out by the demoralizing world view screaming at us. Instead, I want to challenge and inspire you with characters who face real struggles and either find faith for the first time or learn to apply their faith better--all while finding love. My characters feel like lifelong friends who you'll want to root for. And, just maybe, discover a few that remind you of yourself.
Discover faith-laced stories & lifelong friends
This new tagline "discover faith-laced stories & lifelong friends" is my attempt to distill these ideas into one concise phrase.
I hope this resonates with you during this new year.
2025 Goals
My big writing goal for 2025 is to wrap up the Vargas Ranch Series with three more titles:
Book 6 - Falling for a Devoted Cowgirl
Book 7 - Falling for a Pregnant Cowgirl
Prequel - Falling for a Fake Cowboy
Falling for a Devoted Cowgirl is now available for PreOrder with a February 18 release date. This story follows one of my favorite friends Adan Franco and the Vargas cousin, Solana Vargas. This age-gap, friends-to-more story is full of surprises. You won't want to miss it.
Falling for a Pregnant Cowgirl is planned for a fall release and is the last book in the Vargas Ranch Series. It follows the cousin Renata Vargas who has appeared in every book in the series. She meets Gabe Braxton at the most inopportune time--while she's very pregnant as a surrogate for Devon & Raina. There's some sticky situations and complex emotions in this one!
Falling for a Fake Cowboy is a prequel to the Vargas Ranch Series that I've been tinkering with for the better part of two years in between the other stories in the series. This follows Cara Hollis (Aunt Greta's niece, from The Lariat bistro) and Sawyer Fullteron. Junior (aka Padre) makes an appearance and we learn more about the deeper meaning of the family motto and theme verse. This is likely to release before Book 7, as it's further along in the writing process.
