Author Karen Baney creates an interesting mix of close friends keeping distant secrets in her Christian romance, Nickels, and it's enjoyable to find a female protagonist familiar with computers. The background is shaped by 9/11 and the foreground by software programming, but wars of the mind replace those of gun and a quiet undercurrent of faith grows strong, offering anguish or relief.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end! I am looking forward to reading more by Karen Baney, and I would recommend her books to anyone who wants a thought provoking read.

I thoroughly enjoyed Nickels, a Contemporary Christian Romance by Karen Baney. The connection to the characters took place quickly, as I found myself drawn in by the play between them. Ms. Baney has created a group of characters who compliment each other and make for a fun read. Though both Kyle and Nikki are dealing with tragedy and loss, they are fun to be around.
