Book Reviews

I love to read! In 2022, I gave up TV. Yup, that's right. Now I unwind after my day job or take a break from my writing by curling up with a good book. My goal for this year is to read 100 books and I'm well on my way there.

What I Like

My favorite genres include:

  • Cowboys - historical, contemporary romance, western. If it's set in the west or features cowboys, I'm gonna want to read it.

  • Clean Romance - I know this is very subjective. For me, I don't mind a tasteful sex scene as long as it fits with the story. Most of my readers prefer something that clean or cleaner. If your cover is racy, it's not for me or my readers.

  • Historical Romance - My favorite subgenre of historical is anything set in the United States or Canada from the 1700s forward. I will read the occasional Regency romance, WWII, or other settings and time periods. If you wrote a book set in Ireland, Scottland, or Australia, I would love to read it!

  • Contemporary Romance - I love the occasional rom com, chic lit, or women's fiction book. I prefer small town romance, ranches, and did I mention cowboys? I also enjoy reading big city settings with a tight knit group of friends (think Friends the TV show).

  • Christian Historical Romance or Christian Contemporary Romance - I love reading fiction with a strong Bibilically based message. I don't mind if your story deals with difficult topics or is considered a little "edgy" in the Christian market as long as your book ultimately shows a transformed character by the end. My few exceptions to this rule: I don't like books that deal with heavy drug-use themes or married couples having an affair.

  • Dogs - I love dogs, so if your book features a dog please let me know.

I will not enjoy any books with same sex attraction or erotica or anything too hot on the romance side.

What's this cost?

For the time being, it is free. All I ask is that you provide an epub copy for me to read. In exchange, I will write an honest review. As an author, I understand how important reviews are and how difficult it can be to get well-written, quote-worthy reviews. Please take a look at reviews on my blog (sample post) or my Goodreads profile to get an idea of how I write reviews.

I will post my review on:

  • My Blog

  • Amazon

  • Goodreads

  • Barnes & Noble

  • Net Galley (if ebook is provided through them)

  • You can request another retailer as well and I'll let you know if I can or cannot post there.

I also promote the blog post with my review on social media:

  • Twitter

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

If I feel like I can't finish a book (rare) then I will let you know why. As long as the book fits with what my readers will enjoy, I'll still post a spotlight on my blog with the info about the book.

How to Request A Review

If you like what you read on this page and want to request that I review your book, please:

1. Fill out my Book Review Request Form.

2. You'll be asked to provide:

  • Your Name

  • Your Email

  • Book Info URL: This should be a link to a page on your website or a retailer site that has both a picture of your book and the description (back cover copy).

  • Date Requested: Your desired date for the review.

  • Book Release Date: This is only necessary for new releases.

Please allow me a few days to respond. If I accept your request, you'll need to provide an epub copy of your book (it can be through Net Galley, BookFunnel, or other means) at least 2-4 weeks prior to the date you want the review completed.
