1. When and why did you begin writing?

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always written. The first time I remember sitting down to actually write a story was when I went to the local library and I couldn’t find any books I wanted to read. After I wrote it, I hid it so no one would see it.

2. What inspired you to write your first book?

My children were the inspiration to write my first novel, The Price of Trust. I wanted them to understand that abuse is wrong, but sometimes, when you’re trying to give your children an important lesson they just aren’t willing to listen. So I decided to write it down for them instead.

3. Do you see writing as a career?

Actually, if I wrote to make money, I’d be starving! :) But, I find it to be a release ~ therapy, if you will. I love getting to know my characters and what their lives entail.

4. When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?

My first book, The Price of Trust, was published in 2010, my second, Lonely Hearts, was published in 2011, and I wanted to get my third (The Haunting of Maddie Branson) out in 2012, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen.

5. Do you ever experience writer’s block?

No, I experience something called Writer’s Detour. This is where my plate gets so very full and I get so busy that I have difficulties finding the time to write.

6. What are your current projects?

I try to write what I would read. I’m a fiction fanatic, so you’ll find a lot of fiction on my shelves, but there is much non-fiction as well. At this point, I write mainly fiction, but I actually have a cookbook in the wings as well as a three book series and novella that I’m working on now.

7. Can you share a little of your current work with us?

At the moment, I’m working on a novella entitled The Haunting of Maddie Branson. This is a Christian paranormal book. I got most of these ideas from several things that have happened to not only me, but friends and some family members. This book would be more for those who like the creepy, haunting type books without glorifying the dark side. Here’s my tagline: Maddie Branson knew there was something different about her house. It had reached out and touched her in the deep…dark recesses of the night…
